Nettle’s Story

Nettle arrived on 17th June 2023, a baby Kestrel, after his nest was attacked by Crows

Nettle arrived with us after Crows had attacked his nest, nettle was the only baby to survive the fall.

Nettle remained in our care as we hand-reared him and provided rehabilitation to ensure he had the best chance at survival in the wild.

During his treatment, Nettle went from a little bundle of fluff, to a beautiful full grown healthy Kestrel.

As you can see from the photos Nettle made a full recovery.

The treatment took just over two months from start to finish before he was ready for release.

On 5th September 2023, Nettle spread his wings and was released back into the wild, and we caught it on camera!

Nettle would not have survived, had he not had the assistance from our hospital.
