Bob’s Story

Bob arrived on 24th September 2022, our assessment of his wound showed he had been strimmed,
we see this all too often. His arrival photo is to graphic to share…

Bob's success story

Straight away he was given pain relief, it is amazing that hedgehogs have these wounds and bless them, they try to carry on.

The wound had to be cleaned and debrided, dressings were applied to keep the area clean. He was given antibiotics and pain relief daily plus dressing changes.

We could see an improvement everyday.

Bob had a lovely personality, which helped with the care he was receiving, for him and us!

As you can see from the photos Bob made a full recovery.

The treatment took two months from start to finish before he was completely healed as it was such an extensive wound.

Because of the time of year, he was unable to be released straight away as it was winter.

Bob over wintered with us at the wildlife hospital and once the weather was suitable he was released back to the wild.
